Glee Exclusive: Jonthan Groff Returns
Remember me telling you a few weeks back that there were no current plans for Jonathan Groff to reprise his role as Rachel’s evil ex Jesse St. James this season on Glee?
Those plans have changed — big time.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the fan favorite has closed a deal to return for this season’s final three episodes.
Groff exited Glee at the end of season 1 when the Vocal Adrenaline frontman’s diabolical scheme to infiltrate and bring down New Directions was revealed. Next thing you know Jesse’s back with VA and Rachel’s heart is in tatters.
“He’s back to apologize to Rachel,” confides a source close to the show, “and perhaps get her back.”
Question: Any word on whether or not Jonathan Groff is headed back to Glee this season? —Brandi
Ausiello: Yes, there’s word, and it’s no. Next season is a possibility, but he won’t be back this season. And come on, doesn’t Rachel have enough potential suitors and ex-suitors running around without Jesse in the mix, too?

As much as I love Darren Criss on Glee ….
… he does not replace Jonathan Groff or the Jesse St. James shaped hole in my heart. And is it just me or is Blaine kinda being a douche but is, like, really good at covering it up with good intentions? Offering Kurt a solo and then telling him to not try to stand out, but to fit in? We get it, you all wear uniforms, blah blah blah. Jesse St. James would have been like, “I AM THE SHIT AROUND HERE, BITCH.” And everyone would have loved him for it.
